Enemies
During the game, Meru pursues a variety of opponents with Dart and the other Dragoons. Some they are sucessful in stopping but others constantly get away and the group is forced to give chase.
lloyd
"I... just desire the power to create a utopia."
Thoughout the game, Lloyd gives Dart and his companions very good reasons to hate him. He kills Lavtiz, kidnaps Queen Theresa, abandons Lenus and causes general trouble for everyone involved. With Meru, it is his abandonment of Lenus that first gives her motivation. Before, Meru's knowledge of Lloyd was only from what the others had told her. Only after seeing what Lloyd was capable of did Meru truely want to stop him. She would have obviously known he was a Wingly however Meru chooses not to say anything, like because that would reveal herself as well.
lenus
"Surprised, huh? This is the true self of Miss Lenus!"Lenus and Meru interact quite a bit. This is likely because Lenus is meant to show the player than Meru (and by extention Lloyd) is also a Wingly before the game outright explains it. During the battle with Lenus in the Throne Room, it was revealed that Lenus had wings and could fly. Telling her she had no escape, Lenus asks Meru's opinion on that fact. Meru stayed quiet but already knew Lenus could fly away at any time.
This fact is again noted when Lenus dies. The camera zooms in on Lenus and Meru to symbolize their kinship along with the fact that Meru was going to be the next Blue-Sea Dragoon. During her death, Meru felt sadness and pity for the way Lenus was used. This likely gave her motivation to go after Lloyd.
blue-wave dragon regole
Regole is bound to the owner of the Blue-Sea Dragoon Spirit and died along with Lenus. This did not stop his spirit from continuing to find affinity with the Blue-Sea Dragoon Spirit. To avoid hell, Regole remained on Endiness however he became overwhelmed by Mayfil's power. Unlike Feyrbrand or the Divine Dragoon that wanted revenge, Regole only wanted to rest peacefully. He asks Meru to kill him in order to save him.
After Regole's second death, he moved on and is able to rest. Meru is glad that Regole was ok. If Regole had not died with Lenus, it is likely Meru and him would have been close.
divine dragon
The Divine Dragon is a threat to all life and Meru will fight him to protect it.
Meru first found out about the Divine Dragon's return from Guaraha. The Winglies in the forest as well as Meru herself had felt the earth surge. It is this influence that caused animals such as Kamuy to act savage. Meru also learns that the Dragon Buster is missing however the Dragon Block Staff is still in safe keeping.
Meru accidentaly reveals she knows where the Dragon Block Staff is and ends up taking her friends to her hometown and the Forbidden Land. Meru fights against the Divine Dragon to protect her home and the world.
zieg feld
"My hands start the world, and my hands end the world. Yes! Fate desires it."
Meru never directly interacted with Zieg. She chases him along with the rest to protect the world and stop his ambition. Unlike Dart and Rose who are chasing him for their own reasons, Meru is doing it for the greater good of Endiness. As such, neither Zieg nor Meru have a particular history towards one another.
melbu frahma
"In order to obtain an eternal body that is proper for an immortal soul!! And now, I am becoming a god!!"
Meru is a desendant of the Winglies that followed Melbu Frahma. She feels guilty for their actions however thoughout her journey with the other Dragoons, Meru learns that it is her responsibility to not repeat those mistakes. The mistakes themselves are not her burden. Meru does not learn of Melbu's existence until they defeat Zieg at the Moon That Never Sets. At this point it does not matter who is trying to become the God of Destruction, they must be stopped at all costs to save the lives of everyone on Endiness. Meru wishes to defeat him to protect a world of free will and equality.
