Wingly Capital Kadessa
Kadessa was the administrative centre of the Winglies and the capital city of their empire. It was there that Melbu Frahma ruled with the power of the Crystal Sphere. Kadessa was also known for its coloseum and it also contained a Signet Sphere. By the end of the Dragon Campaign, the city was filled with refuges from the other cities.
The city was assaulted by Holy Emperor Diaz and his Dragoons. Its defence force of Virage were ripped apart by Michael while the Dragoons attacked from within. Zieg was successful in killing Melbu but the city began to collapse shortly after and landed somewhere in Mille Seseau. Kadessa also claimed the lives of Shirley, Belzac, Kanzas and presumably Zieg.
forbidden land
"Cuz I, I hear the outcries of the people who died here."With the return of the Divine Dragon, it became nessecary for the Dragoons to aquire the Dragon Block Staff in order to stand a chance defeating the King of Dragons. Using ancient Wingly magic,Ancestor Blano was able to send Meru and her friends to the ruins of Capital Kadessa known as the Forbidden Land. The ground still sizzled with the magic of a 11,000 year old battle and even in decay the city was a magnificent sight.
Meru was hesitant at first. Very little had changed from the time the city fell and the cries of the dead were still on the wind. Even with her weak magical abilities, Meru was still able to hear them and it unsettled her. Luckly Meru was determinded to help her friends defeat the Divine Dragon and would not be stopped by such things. It wasn't like she could do anything about it anyway.
inheritance
"I am the offspring of that kind of Wingly."Traversing the ruins, the party came across a large empty space with tiered steps. Quickly deducing it was a coloseum, Meru recited what the Ancestor had told her. During the height of the Wingly domination, Winglies would watch death matches among the dominated matches. Meru felt some responsibility as she was decended from the Winglies that followed Melbu Frahma. During her time with humans, this knowledge likely acted like a weight on her shoulders. Meru thought she was guilty for the crimes of her forefathers.
Dart reminded her what else the Ancestor has said. Kadessa was nothing more than a mere ruin. There was no longer anything special about it. All the horrible things the Winglies did were not Meru's burden. Her only responsibility was to never forget those crimes in order for them to never be repeated.
With the support of her friends Meru was able to come to terms that while she may have decended from horrible events, they were not her horrible events. Armed with this, Meru's love of her friends and humans grew larger and her resolve to protect and help them hardened.
