Meru was born in the Wingly Forest in Mille Seseau. With no siblings, her parents adored her and showered her with affection. It is possible Meru was born more than the 16 years she appears as Winglies age differently. A happy child, she was playful and full of life. However one thing always made her curious. Why didn't anyone ever leave the Forest? Why couldn't we? What was out there?
At some point, Meru was engaged to Guaraha. It may or may not have been an arranged marriage. Given the small population in the forest, it's likely arranged marriage was common to avoid inbreeding. Even so, Guaraha obviously loved Meru very much and was thrilled to be her future husband. Meru was unsure of her feelings towards her longtime friend and avoided the topic rather that face it.
Meru never believed the Archangel religion and began to question her kin's customs and beliefs. At some point, Meru decided to leave the forest knowing that such as thing would lead to banishment.
the new world
Meru traveled from Mille Seseau to Tiberoa and settled down in Donau as a dancer. Meru was able to integrate herself into the human population, likely due to her forceful nature and knowledge of self-defence. Little did Meru know but the Bardel Brothers' sister would follow her steps only to not be so fortunate.
While in Donau, Meru became good friends with the mayor's son Lynn and his future wife Kate. When it was discovered that the Gehrich Gang kidnapped Lynn when he went to negotiate, Meru was the first to attempt a rescue mission. She ended up running into Dart and his friends and soon forced her way into their group to lead them into the Valley of Corrupted Gravity in order to save her friend. Luckily Dart and Company had their own reasons to meet up with the same foe and reluctantly allowed her to join them.
