Queen Fury
The boat trip to Fueno gave the party the opportunity to reflect on their journey so far as well as their personal demons. This was the also the only part of the game where the party broke up and you got to control each member individually as they ran around the ship talking to everyone. Each person needed to talk to a specific party member to advance the plot. This time allowed for insight into the various character relationships due to how they reacted to each other.
Meru spent most of this time having temper tantrums or harassing the other passengers. While every character had some growth, Meru in particular was one of the only characters not angsting and her attitude was not only amusing but revealed a lot about how the other characters dealt with her.
Shana/Meru
Shana: "What you doing in here?"
Meru: "I'm just bored!....You know what!? Let's have a pillow fight!"
Shana: "Sorry. I'm a little bit busy now."
Meru: "You are boring!
Dart/Meru
Dart: "Have you seen Rose?"
Meru: "I dunno.....Anyway, I'm totally bored!! Hang out with me! Hang out with me!"
Dart: "Next time."
Meru: "It's totally boring! I'm gonna tell Shana that you were looking for Rose!"
Rose/Meru
Rose: "You look bored."
Meru: "Exactly!! Can we hang out together?"
Rose: "If you want to practice your sword, I can give you one."
Meru: "Um....Ah....I think I'll hang out by myself."
Rose: "Okay. It's unfortunate though."
Meru: "(Nyah!!!)"
Rose: "I can give you some practice if you want."
Meru: "No thanks! No thanks! I'll behave!"
Haschel/Meru
Meru: "Boring!! Boring!! Bore bore bore boring!!!"
Haschel: "..."
Kongol/Meru
Meru: "Boring!! Boring!! Bore bore bore boring!!! Kongol!! Hang out with me!................ Hey hey! I said hey!! Heeeey!! Don't ignore meeeeeee!"
Meru's Exploration
After Albert's walk about the ship, it was Meru's turn to run around and cause havoc. Meru pestered everyone she met or called their boring if them didn't acknowledge her.
Meru found Kongol deep in the boiler room of the ship. Apparently he was not fond of boating.
Meru: "Hey Kongol! If you stay in such a dank place for a long time, your personality will be drippy!."
Kongol: "Dank and drippy different?."
Meru: "Forget about such tiny stuff!!."
Albert returned to the 1st class cabin after his walk, still quietly pondering.
Meru: "Hey, have you seen Dart?"
Albert: "I haven't seen him, but Shana might know."
Meru: "She might, thanks!"
Shana was found visiting birds at the bow of the ship.
Meru: "Hey! Have you seen Dart?"
Shana: "I haven't, is something wrong?"
Meru: "It's nothing. I thought you were supposed to be with him all the time."
Shana: "Do you think it's strange? Not being together once in a while makes me realize many things."
Meru: "Really? It's too difficult for me."
Haschel sat quickly on the deck contemplating his experiences with Claire, though Meru did not know what he was thinking about.
Meru: "Hey Haschel! Have you seen Dart?"
Haschel: "..."
Meru: "Hey Haschel! Haschel!.......[He's thinking about something. It's boring.]"
Rose could be found at the highest point of the ship. She enjoyed being high in the sky in solitude.
Meru: "Hey! It's high up here!"
Rose: "Yes it is."
Meru: "[Rose is dark....]"
guess who!
Meru: "[A Dart spotted!].....[Thinking about something...?]......[I know! Hee hee hee.].....Who do you think it is?"
Meru's target was Dart and when she found him, she decided to play a little game on him. Disguising her voice, Meru asked Dart to guess who it was. Depending on Dart's guess, several different but equally amusing bits of dialogue occurred. Ultimately, the answer had no effect on the plot.
Could it be Shana?
Dart: "Is that you, Shana?"
Meru: "Hey! You! Don't you have anything else to think about!?"
Dart: "Oh, it's you Meru."
Meru: "What is that "Oh" about!"
Dart: "S, sorry. "
Could it be Meru?
Dart: "Of course, it's Meru!"
Meru: "Wow! How did you know?"
Dart: "There is nobody else who does such pranks."
Meru: "I guess so."
Could it be Rose?
Dart: "No way...it's Rose?"
Meru: "Of course."
Dart: "Wh, what do you want?"
Meru: "I have something to tell ya! Oops, tell you. I, like you...Dart...."
Dart: "Wh, What are you saying? I, I have Shana."
Meru: "Hey! Are you an idiot or what!? I have such a pretty voice, it can't be anybody else but me!!"
Dart: "M, Meru...."
Meru: "BY THE WAY....."
Dart: "Wha, what?"
Meru: "Well! I won't tell Shana about this!"
Could it be Albert?
Dart: "Albert, don't be silly."
Meru: "Yes, I am. I am the King of Serdio, Albert. I am the most important person in this country. I don't think so!!"
Dart: "I knew it, it's you Meru."
Could it be Haschel?
Dart: "Haschel...quit that voice."
Meru: "You, You really think so?"
Dart: "You never change Haschel. You always like pranks."
Meru: "I'm not, I'm not an old man."
Dart: "S, Sorry! I was just kidding!"
Meru: "Really?"
Dart: "It's impossible to mistake your pretty voice."
Meru: "Of course!"
Could it be Kongol?
Dart: "I doubt it, but, Kongol?"
Meru: "Yes. Kongol don't speak with forked tongue. I don't think so!!"
Dart: "I knew it was you, Meru."
meru's expedition
Meru: "That's my Dart! You are totally cool! Come on! Now departing on Meru's expedition!"
Meru decided that Dart was going to join her on an adventure since they were both bored out of their minds. However Dart declined as he had already seen most of the ship. Meru accused him on thinking of Shana and that he was worried Shana would be jealous if she saw him with Meru. Dart found Meru's sudden desire to start an adventure strange and questioned her on it. It turned out Meru thought Rose was weird and might be involved in something shady since she wasn't telling them everything about herself.
Dart remained Meru that she wasn't completely honest with them either and that maybe Rose had reasons for hiding things about herself. He also chastised her about talking bad about her friends. Meru felt sorry about her comments. It wasn't that she didn't like Rose; rather that she couldn't warm up to Rose because of her attitude towards her. Dart decided that it would be a good time to remind Meru of her adventure and with a typical 180 temperament change, Meru was off and running for her adventure. Unfortunately, that adventure ended up being aboard the Ghost Ship.
